
Wesley Wilson, Ed.D.
Wesley Wilson, Ed.D. is the founding member of Excalibur Education and the Director of Education Research and Program Evaluation. Dr. Wilson has over 25 years of experience in education, including leadership roles in five education programs. During his leadership, he reviewed and evaluated instructional objectives for numerous educational programs of study, updating relevant course materials, and created training evaluation forms for instructors and student learning objectives. He has utilized qualitative and quantitative skills documenting curricula implementation and fidelity, course pacing and strengths. He has multiple presentations focused on learner-centered education, strengths-based learning models, and instructor preparedness. He has experience evaluating the holistic program effectiveness of nationally recognized programs from instructor, staff, and student perspectives.
Dr. Wilson served as an Educational Research Scientist for Development Services Group under an IES Postsecondary Contract. As part of this work, Dr. Wilson served as a reviewer and coauthor for the IES What Works Clearinghouse Practice Guide on Developmental Education, Strategies for Postsecondary Students in Developmental Education: A Practice Guide for College and University Administrators, Advisors, and Faculty. Dr. Wilson was named an Outstanding Alumni by the University of Florida Institute of Higher Education in 2017. He received the Teaching Excellence Award from Austin Community College in 2012. His dissertation, An Examination of the Graduate Preparation for Community College Student Affairs Officers, was named Dissertation of the Year by the National Council on Student Development in 2005.
Dr. Wilson holds an Ed.D. in Higher Educational Leadership from the University of Florida, a Master of Arts in Adult Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Baylor University. Dr. Wilson is certified as a facilitator by the Center for Appreciative Inquiry. He is also a certified reviewer in group design for the Institute of Education Sciences What Works Clearinghouse, the highest standard in educational research.
